Senior AIX System Administrator (24/7 Rotational Shifts)

About the role

FIS is seeking a senior AIX System Administrator to join its global retirement‑technology team. You will work 24/7 rotational shifts, supporting critical UNIX/AIX environments that power retirement plan services for clients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade internal hardware and software used for product development.
• Control user access, manage passwords, and enforce security policies.
• Propose and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Monitor system usage, performance, and capacity.
• Train personnel on system usage and best practices.
• Troubleshoot server, software, and hardware issues.
• Recommend, schedule, and execute hardware/software upgrades or repairs.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new software and hardware solutions.
• Support web access, electronic messaging, and maintain a secure environment.
• Provide hardware specifications based on application needs and growth forecasts.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of hands‑on experience with AIX 6.1/7.1.
• Proven ability to handle day‑to‑day UNIX/AIX tasks, break‑fix support, and system backups.
• Experience with VCS clustering, high‑availability management, and storage migrations.
• Familiarity with Linux/AIX platforms, OS clustering, partitioning, and virtualization.
• Willingness to work night shifts and provide 24 × 7 coverage as needed.
