Senior AI System Architect – Agentic & Conversational AI

About the role

We are looking for a senior AI System Architect to lead the design and evolution of Anaplan’s next‑generation Agentic AI and Conversational AI capabilities. The role sits at the intersection of AI research, software architecture, distributed systems and enterprise product engineering, and requires both strategic vision and hands‑on implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and shape the technical architecture of AI‑powered experiences, including intelligent agent interaction, context management, tool orchestration and multi‑step workflow execution.
• Design Conversational AI and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation solutions that handle multi‑turn dialogs, intent understanding, grounding, explainability and secure enterprise data retrieval.
• Evaluate and select foundation models and AI technologies based on latency, cost, reliability and business fit, and establish patterns for model routing, prompting and fine‑tuning.
• Write prototype and production code in Python, Java, C# or Go to validate architectural decisions and build critical AI components.
• Collaborate with engineering, security and platform teams to ensure scalability, availability, observability, privacy, governance and responsible AI safeguards.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in AI system architecture, distributed systems and enterprise software engineering.
• Comfortable discussing architecture at a strategic level while also delivering hands‑on code and prototypes.
• Deep understanding of security, privacy and responsible AI considerations in enterprise environments.
