Senior Agentic AI Engineer

About the role

Assent is building a governed agentic AI platform that turns business ideas into production‑ready AI agents. The Senior Agentic AI Engineer will work with stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Enterprise Systems and other functions to design, build and ship agentic solutions that become part of a governed catalog used company‑wide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build production‑grade agent systems, including tool calling, sub‑agent orchestration, memory/context management and multi‑step reasoning using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or MCP‑based architectures.
• Partner with business units to scope use cases, translate problems into agentic solutions and co‑design implementations.
• Build and tune Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines on enterprise data sources (Confluence, Jira, Snowflake, Salesforce) including retrieval strategy, embeddings and relevance evaluation.
• Implement observability, evaluation and cost‑control mechanisms (accuracy, hallucination rate, latency, cost) for every agent deployed.
• Take solutions from proof‑of‑concept to production, adhering to authentication, cost‑metering and logging standards.
• Contribute reusable patterns to a shared library and collaborate with platform teams to ensure clean deployment into the governed catalog.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years delivering production LLM‑powered or agentic systems.
• Proven ability to work directly with non‑technical stakeholders to define and scope use cases.
• Clear understanding of what makes an agentic system production‑ready, including observability, cost control and failure handling.

Required skills

• Python (strong fundamentals, API development with FastAPI or similar)
• Agentic frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or MCP‑based orchestration
• RAG architecture: chunking, embeddings, vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant, Chroma, etc.)
• Cloud‑native deployment on AWS (ECS, Fargate, Lambda, Bedrock)
