Senior Accountant – Record to Report Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Specialist to join our OCFO Controllers – Record to Report (R2R) General Accounting team in Pune. You will own day‑to‑day general ledger activities, drive month‑end close processes and act as a subject‑matter expert for reconciliation and multi‑currency accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily general ledger accounting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, including provisions, reserves, FX calculations and multi‑currency revaluations.
• Prepare and review medium to high‑complexity balance‑sheet reconciliations in line with corporate policies.
• Guide team members on accounting concepts and ensure accurate application.
• Collaborate with onshore teams to resolve reconciliation variances, aged items and escalations.
• Act as SME for the reconciliation process and ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
• Adopt AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Co‑pilot) to streamline finance processes.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of experience in Record to Report (R2R).
• B.Com with 8+ years, or M.Com/MBA with 6+ years, or CWA‑Inter/CA‑Inter with 6+ years.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or Oracle; Blackline experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of subsystems impact on the general ledger and TLM open‑item clearing (advantageous).
• Proficiency in MS‑Excel, MS‑Word, PowerPoint; experience with Power BI and Power Query is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing process documentation and presenting dashboards to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Co‑pilot and other AI tools.
