Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at NationsBenefits. The role involves accurate financial reporting, supporting the year‑end audit process, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and monthly account reconciliations for manufacturer statements.
• Serve as primary backup for the Accounts Payable Specialist, processing invoices and issuing payments.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month‑end close and adjust balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly P&L review and variance analysis, explaining material variances.
• Identify and implement accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Assist with ad‑hoc projects and support the finance team as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with proficiency in US GAAP.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast‑paced, public‑company environment.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems and experience with sub‑ledger modules.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and self‑motivation.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• US GAAP
• ERP systems (NetSuite or other Oracle ERP)
• Advanced Excel (look‑ups, pivots, SUMIF, data normalization)
