Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our Accounts Payable, vendor coordination and tax compliance functions for clients in Ahmedabad. The role combines day‑to‑day transaction processing with month‑end reporting and mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vendor payments, refunds and reconciliations; maintain the supplier reconciliation portal and prepare weekly AP reports.
• Obtain missing vendor invoices and approvals from clients; process vendor payments and allocate entries in the accounting system.
• Manage tax compliance tasks including W‑9 collection, 1099 calculations, sales‑tax and use‑tax filings, and preparation of CRT, TPT, 8027 and other county tax returns.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, ensure timely delivery of AP reports, and meet internal month‑end closing deadlines.
• Train and mentor new team members and Associates, enforce internal processes, and participate in continuous learning and development sessions.

Required profile

• B.Com, M.Com, MBA (Finance) or equivalent; professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, CFA are preferred.
• 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in AP, tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative team‑player attitude.
