About the role
The Senior Accountant will manage expense recording, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure accurate financial statements. The role supports operational excellence, continuous improvement, and global process governance within Mastercard's finance function.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Monitor accounting for agreements to ensure compliance with Mastercard policies.
- Prepare balance‑sheet account reconciliations and monthly expense reporting.
- Provide management reporting, variance analysis, and ad‑hoc analysis of expense data.
- Represent GBSC on cross‑functional projects, identify issues, and develop improvement actions.
- Participate in SOX testing and support internal and external audits.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CA and/or MBA preferred.
- Prior expense accounting experience, preferably in a shared‑services environment.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).
Required skills
- Oracle financial systems.
- Reconciliation tools.
- Advanced Excel.
- Microsoft Word.
