About the role

The School Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring punctuality, discipline, and compliance with traffic and safety regulations. The driver must keep the vehicle in good condition and create a respectful, secure environment for all passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the school van on assigned routes, picking up and dropping off students on time.
• Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and carry out basic vehicle maintenance.
• Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the appropriate authority.
• Keep accurate attendance records and trip logs.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure seat‑belt usage where applicable.
• Assist students with special needs or younger children during boarding and alighting.
• Cooperate with school authorities, parents and other drivers.
• Attend scheduled training sessions or meetings as required.
