Scent Design Manager

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is hiring a Scent Design Manager in Mumbai on a hybrid basis. The role sits within the Scent function, which uses creativity, science and consumer expertise to design fragrances that give products their emotional appeal.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category innovation strategies by turning consumer, customer and market insights into competitive product solutions.
• Identify and drive new business opportunities through a deep understanding of market trends, consumer needs and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Consumer Insights, R&D and cross-functional teams to create innovation briefs and differentiated value propositions.
• Lead projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring effective execution and speed to market.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to align fragrance and category strategies with business goals.
• Monitor project performance, address technical challenges and adapt strategies to achieve results.
• Build regional and global visibility of category initiatives and promote knowledge sharing and best practices.

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, fragrance, marketing, business or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in an international environment.
• Excellent olfactory communication skills: discriminating, describing scents and remembering odors.
• Ability to identify potential fragrances based on market relevance.
• Willingness to travel.

• Strong project management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent influencing skills across organizational levels.
• Fluent English; other languages are a plus.
