SAP Functional SME – Finance Process Lead

About the role

Databricks is building AI‑powered platforms for its internal finance organization. The SAP Functional SME will own the functional design of core finance processes on S/4HANA, translate business needs into clean‑core solutions, and define where AI‑driven automation fits within a controlled, auditable workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end discovery and AS‑IS/TO‑BE design for Record‑to‑Report, Source‑to‑Pay and Order‑to‑Cash, defining the S/4HANA solution scope.
• Configure functional settings, master‑data strategy and collaborate with developers on extensions, APIs and orchestration.
• Use SAP Process Intelligence and process‑mining tools to identify root causes, quantify improvement opportunities and translate findings into concrete requirements.
• Define AI‑assisted and agentic automation requirements, deciding between AI recommendations, deterministic rules and human‑in‑the‑loop controls.
• Facilitate workshops, validate business value, lead UAT and measure outcomes such as cycle‑time reduction and touchless transaction rates.

Required profile

• 6+ years of SAP functional consulting experience with at least one full S/4HANA lifecycle in finance (R2R, P2P, O2C).
• Proven ability to lead process discovery, mapping and mining using SAP Process Intelligence or comparable tools.
• Strong bias toward clean‑core S/4HANA design and sound judgment on extensions versus process changes.
• Experience applying AI/agentic automation in enterprise finance while ensuring governance, auditability and human oversight.
• Solid understanding of integration patterns (APIs/OData, IDoc, SAP Integration Suite/BTP) and SAP authorizations, SoD and SOX requirements.
