Safety Officer

About the role

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Safety Officer to join our team in Kadi, Gujarat. The role focuses on minimizing workplace accidents, injuries and illnesses while fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with local and international regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Perform risk assessments and design risk‑reduction strategies for operational activities.
• Organize and deliver safety training sessions, drills and onboarding orientations for employees and contractors.
• Investigate accidents, near‑misses and injuries, determine root causes and provide actionable recommendations.
• Maintain detailed records of incidents, inspections and training; prepare safety reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee maintenance and proper use of safety equipment, PPE, fire extinguishers and first‑aid kits.
• Establish and manage emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures for fires or natural disasters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field.
• Valid professional safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA 30‑hour.
• 2‑6 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar compliance role.
• Strong knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines and risk assessment methodologies.
