Safety Manager – MRO Engineering

About the role

The Safety Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS) for MRO engineering activities. This role ensures proactive hazard identification, effective risk management and a strong safety culture across all maintenance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the organisation’s Safety Management System (SMS).
• Identify aviation safety hazards and assess operational risks related to maintenance activities.
• Ensure effective reporting, investigation and follow‑up of safety occurrences, hazards and near‑misses.
• Monitor safety performance and track implementation of risk‑mitigation actions.
• Promote a strong safety and just culture across all departments.
• Coordinate safety communication, promotion and awareness programmes.
• Oversee safety‑related training, including human factors, and monitor its effectiveness.
• Support internal investigations and assist in root‑cause analysis.
• Prepare and present periodic safety performance reports to senior management.
• Act as the focal point for safety‑related interface with DGCA as required.
• Maintain safety documentation, records and data‑analysis systems.

Required profile

• Engineering, aviation or technical qualification (degree or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant aviation experience, with exposure to maintenance operations.
• Prior experience in safety management, quality or technical oversight preferred.
