Risk Manager – Stock Market Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to oversee client and trading risk, margin management and regulatory compliance within our stock market operations. The role involves real‑time monitoring, surveillance and coordination with technology and operations teams to protect the firm’s financial exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time client trading activities, identify abnormal risk patterns, concentration risks and margin shortfalls, and implement controls.
• Ensure compliance with peak margin and regulatory requirements, manage collateral utilization, margin calls and liquidation processes.
• Maintain adherence to SEBI, exchange, clearing corporation and depository guidelines, and support regulatory reporting.
• Conduct trade surveillance, detect suspicious activity, and maintain documentation for market abuse compliance.
• Handle operational exceptions, system issues and risk escalations in coordination with operations, compliance and technology teams.
• Work with technology teams to enhance risk management systems, validate automated controls and support testing.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly risk reports, analyse trading exposure and present insights to senior management.
• Maintain audit and inspection readiness, support internal and external audits and regulatory assessments.
• Support implementation of internal risk policies, recommend process improvements and participate in risk committee discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in risk management or RMS operations within a stock broking firm.
• Strong knowledge of Indian capital market regulations and trading operations.
• Excellent analytical, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
