Retention Marketer (Email & SMS)

About the role

Syncopated Marketing is seeking a smart, curious marketer to specialise in retention marketing for ecommerce brands. No prior email marketing experience is required – we will train you on platforms such as Klaviyo and Omnisend – but strong copywriting ability is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Research each brand’s products, positioning, customers, competitors and voice.
• Analyse customer motivations, objections and buying behaviour to inform campaign ideas.
• Plan and execute email and SMS campaigns as well as automated customer journeys.
• Develop campaign concepts, hooks, messaging angles and offers.
• Write complete email and SMS copy, including subject lines, headlines, body copy and calls‑to‑action.
• Provide creative direction for designers and review final designs.
• Coordinate with the team to deliver campaigns and automations on schedule.
• Analyse performance data, identify improvements and run tests.
• Gradually take ownership of multiple client accounts.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of experience in marketing, copywriting, content, social media, paid advertising, branding, ecommerce or a related role.
• A completed MBA, PGDM or other relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Excellent written English and strong daily copywriting ability.
• Good understanding of hooks, offers, customer psychology and brand voice.
• Ability to turn product insights into persuasive marketing messages.
• Strong research, problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Comfort working with marketing data and performance metrics.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple brands and deadlines.
• Quick learner, open to feedback and ready to take ownership.
