Restaurant Cashier

About the role

The Restaurant Cashier role at THE SHANTADURGA CAFE is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Karnataka, India. The cashier greets guests, takes orders, processes payments accurately and issues receipts while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests and take their orders both in‑person and over the phone.
• Process cash and digital transactions, manage the cash register and reconcile the drawer.
• Coordinate with the food and beverage team to track order status and ensure timely service.
• Assist with packaging take‑away orders and maintain a clean, organized counter area.
• Answer phone inquiries, handle order requests and provide accurate information.
• Support overall customer service efforts and adhere to safety, hygiene and company policies.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proven cash‑handling ability, including accurate billing and change management.
• Good phone etiquette for taking orders and responding to inquiries.
• Basic knowledge of food & beverage menus to answer guest questions.
• Reliability, attention to detail and basic math skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and prior experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
• Effective communication in English and local languages, with a willingness to learn and grow.
