Restaurant Captain – Fine Dining Service

About the role

Sorano is looking for a confident, well‑groomed and guest‑focused Captain to lead a designated section of the restaurant and ensure a smooth, refined and personalised dining experience. The Captain will manage the section, interact with guests, uphold service standards and drive upselling while maintaining Sorano’s fine‑dining quality.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly, take ownership of assigned tables, and provide personalised service based on guest preferences.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders, explain menu items, and communicate orders clearly to kitchen and bar.
• Follow Sorano’s service sequence and SOPs, ensuring proper table setting, food presentation, correct serving techniques and temperature control.
• Actively recommend premium dishes, wines, cocktails and desserts to increase average guest spend without pressuring guests.
• Guide and supervise stewards and junior service staff, conduct pre‑shift briefings and ensure section readiness.
• Ensure accurate order punching, monitor voids, discounts and complimentary items, and oversee proper billing and payment procedures.

Required profile

• 2–5 years experience in premium restaurants, hotels or fine‑dining establishments (Italian/F&B fine dining a plus).
• Excellent communication and guest‑handling skills with strong knowledge of food and beverage.
• Well‑groomed appearance, confident and service‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy services.
• Good command of English; knowledge of Hindi or other Indian languages is an advantage.
