Resident Medical Officer

About the role

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will be based on‑site in Sarangarh, providing primary medical care to underserved communities. This full‑time position involves clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments, diagnose common conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments.
• Manage outpatient and inpatient care, including basic emergency and trauma response.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists or higher‑level facilities as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and generate reports for program activities.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff and community health workers to ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Train junior clinical staff, nurses and community health workers.
• Participate in health camps and contribute to preventive health initiatives in surrounding villages.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration to the appropriate medical council.
• Strong foundation in medicine and ability to manage common medical conditions in a community setting.
• Experience in surgery or minor surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated patient‑care skills, compassionate practice and adherence to ethical standards.
• Experience in rural or community health settings is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Sarangarh and adapt to resource‑limited environments.
