Regulatory Product & Material Compliance Engineer (Design for Environment)

About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory Product & Material Compliance Engineer to lead Design for Environment (DfE) activities, ensuring our automotive products meet global substance regulations throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and validate IMDS submissions and supplier material declarations for accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct compliance assessments against IMDS, ELV, GADSL, REACH, RoHS, SCIP, PFAS, SVHC, Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals and emerging regulations.
• Perform early‑stage DfE and regulatory risk assessments from concept through product launch.
• Review BOMs, material compositions, technical documentation and supplier evidence to establish product compliance status.
• Define and communicate DfE and material compliance requirements to engineering, procurement, product management and suppliers.
• Act as the single point of contact for customer compliance queries and regulatory evidence.
• Track regulatory changes and translate them into product, material and design requirements.
• Develop Power BI dashboards, Excel/VBA tools and automation solutions for compliance tracking and reporting.

Required profile

• BE degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• 6–8 years of experience in material and substance compliance within the automotive industry.
• Proven ability to coordinate with suppliers and customers on compliance matters.

Required skills

• IMDS, ELV, GADSL, REACH, RoHS, SCIP, PFAS, SVHC, Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals.
• Power BI, Excel/VBA, data analysis and automation.
