Regulatory & Litigation Counsel – Investigations & Enforcement

About the role

Google is seeking a seasoned attorney to lead its regulatory and litigation efforts related to investigations and enforcement. The role involves providing proactive legal guidance on complex technological products and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, litigation, and enforcement actions.
• Oversee collection and production of accurate information for external submissions and disclosures.
• Provide legal advice on government and regulatory audits and examinations.
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain programs that ensure product compliance with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
• Engage with regulators such as CCI, MEITY, and RBI.
• Apply expertise in the Information Technology Act and intermediary guidelines.

Required profile

• JD, LL.B., or equivalent degree with admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 7 years of attorney‑level experience in government, in‑house, or law‑firm settings.
• Preferred 10 years of experience handling legal, regulatory, and litigation matters.
• Experience working with technology companies and understanding complex technical issues.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with regulators and navigate regulatory risk.
