Registered Nurse (RN) – Home Care

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide front‑line nursing care for clients in their residences, representing PJS Care Services. Working independently or supervising Nursing Assistants and LPNs, the RN implements care plans, ensures compliance with physician orders, and promotes health education for clients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and deliver nursing care according to each client’s Plan of Care.
• Perform routine treatments, medication administration, and health education in line with physician orders.
• Supervise and train Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses, assigning work and evaluating performance.
• Maintain open communication with the care team, clients, and families to coordinate effective care continuity.
• Encourage client participation in physical, mental, and nutritional activities to support overall well‑being.
• Observe safety issues, document care activities, and adhere to Illinois Nurse Practice Act regulations.

Required profile

• Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
• Current certification in standard first aid and CPR.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and supervise other nursing staff.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Capacity to handle stressful environments with compassion and physical fitness.
