Regional Head of Operations – India

About the role

The Regional Head of Operations is the single‑point authority for a group of schools in India, ensuring safe, compliant and cost‑effective operations that allow principals to focus on teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day operational performance of schools across facilities, transport, security, food services and front‑office functions.
• Ensure 100 % school readiness each academic term and drive consistency of operational standards.
• Oversee facilities maintenance, asset management and sustainability initiatives such as energy and water conservation.
• Lead health, safety and safeguarding compliance, conduct audits, drills and incident reviews.
• Manage the regional vendor ecosystem, define SLAs, monitor performance and ensure safe student transport.
• Control operational budgets, track variances and implement cost‑optimisation measures.
• Ensure statutory, regulatory and audit compliance for all schools.
• Act as crisis lead for operational incidents and maintain risk registers.
• Support high‑quality parent and student experience and resolve related complaints.
• Build and lead regional operations teams, coach school leaders and drive SOP adoption.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations or equivalent; postgraduate qualification in Operations/Facilities/Project Management is a plus.
• 12–18 + years of operations leadership experience in multi‑site environments such as schools, hospitals or retail chains.
• Proven experience managing 10 + sites with strong background in safety, compliance, vendor management and cost control.
