Regional Financial Controller – India

About the role

Axi is seeking a Regional Financial Controller for its India operations. The role will lead financial control, statutory reporting, regulatory finance and overall financial operations for Axi’s Indian entities. It combines strategic oversight with hands‑on implementation of processes and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end financial accounting for all India entities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of results.
• Oversee the monthly close process, prepare management accounts and variance analyses for Group Finance.
• Establish and manage the regulatory finance framework, ensuring compliance with RBI, SEBI and other regulatory obligations.
• Manage statutory audits, corporate tax filings, GST, transfer pricing and Companies Act compliance.
• Oversee payroll statutory requirements including TDS, PF, gratuity and labour law compliance.
• Build scalable processes for accounts payable, receivable, treasury operations and banking reconciliations.
• Lead implementation of financial systems and reporting tools within India.
• Provide financial insights, budgeting, forecasting and business case support to India leadership.
• Lead finance workstreams for the establishment of the regulated India entity, including capital planning and policy setup.
• Foster strong relationships with Group Finance, Legal, Compliance and external partners.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 8–12+ years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical expertise in financial control, statutory reporting and Ind AS; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• Experience in regulated financial services, fintech, capital markets or brokerage sectors.
• Proven ability to establish processes, controls and systems in a growth environment.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Track record of working independently and handling ambiguous, fast‑paced settings.
• Experience engaging with auditors, regulators and senior leadership.
