Regional Financial Controller – India

About the role

The Regional Financial Controller – India will be responsible for financial control, statutory reporting, regulatory finance and overall financial operations of Axi’s India entities. This senior, hands‑on position combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end financial accounting for all India entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity of results.
• Oversee the monthly close process, prepare management accounts and variance analyses for Group Finance.
• Maintain a robust control environment aligned with Group policies and internal audit standards.
• Establish and manage the regulatory finance framework for the new regulated entity, ensuring compliance with RBI, SEBI and other reporting obligations.
• Manage statutory audits, corporate tax filings, GST, transfer pricing and Companies Act compliance in partnership with external advisors.
• Oversee payroll‑related statutory requirements including TDS, PF, gratuity and labour law compliance.
• Set up scalable processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury operations, banking and reconciliations.
• Lead implementation of financial systems and reporting tools within India and support settlements and operational finance processes with global teams.
• Provide financial insights, budgeting, forecasting and decision support to the India leadership team.
• Lead finance workstreams for the establishment of the regulated India entity, including bank accounts, capital planning and policy frameworks.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with proven experience in financial control and statutory reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to build processes from inception and ensure operational excellence.
• Strong knowledge of Indian regulatory requirements (RBI, SEBI, GST, Companies Act).
• Experience managing audits, tax filings and payroll statutory compliance.
• Ability to partner with global finance teams and support cross‑border financial operations.
