Receiving / Materials Handler

About the role

The Receiving / Materials Handler is responsible for the accurate receipt, verification, and distribution of raw materials, tooling, and shop supplies. This position ensures inventory integrity and supports production by delivering the right items to the right locations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive all tooling and shop supplies, verify shipments against purchase orders, and deliver items to the original requestor.
• Unload raw materials, confirm quantity, size, length, and material type, and forward certification documentation to purchasing.
• Identify each item with job numbers and heat numbers when required.
• Isolate, red‑tag, and immediately notify purchasing of any non‑conforming items.
• Deliver approved raw material to appropriate storage shelves, racks, or work cells.
• Prepare isolated non‑confirming items for return to the vendor.
• Perform physical inventories and cycle counts as directed by purchasing.
• Maintain cleanliness and security of raw material storage areas.

Required profile

• Attention to detail and ability to follow purchase order specifications.
• Strong organizational skills for tracking items, job numbers, and heat numbers.
• Capability to work closely with Purchasing, Quality, and Team Leaders.
• Willingness to act as backup for related operational positions.
