R&D Principal Technologist – Product Development

About the role

AVEVA is seeking an experienced R&D Principal Technologist to lead the Predictive Analytics product team in Bangalore. This senior, hands‑on position combines strategic technical direction with active development of enterprise‑grade software that processes large‑scale industrial and time‑series data.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture for Predictive Analytics, emphasizing scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Lead design and implementation of complex features across C#/.NET backend services, APIs, data‑processing pipelines, and Angular‑based user interfaces.
• Engineer solutions that efficiently handle high‑volume time‑series datasets, applying query optimisation, caching, pagination, asynchronous processing, and batching.
• Design distributed, cloud‑connected systems using microservices, event‑driven patterns, resiliency techniques, and Domain‑Driven Design.
• Drive product modernisation through technical discovery, proof‑of‑concepts, and adoption of emerging frameworks.
• Champion engineering excellence with strong practices in code quality, automated testing, security, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor engineers, foster knowledge sharing, and raise the overall technical capability of the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in full‑stack development, preferably in senior technical leadership roles.
• Proven ability to make architectural decisions and deliver high‑performance, enterprise‑scale software.
