R&D Principal Technologist

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a senior R&D Principal Technologist to design and deliver scalable web and cloud applications for industrial customers. The role involves translating complex software requirements into high‑quality code, influencing architecture decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and support web/cloud applications using C#.NET 8, Web API and REST API.
• Participate in design‑architecture activities and define technology frameworks.
• Collaborate with product owners and R&D management to clarify requirements and provide technical feedback.
• Contribute to sprint planning, release timelines and identify scope deviations.
• Ensure code complies with cybersecurity standards, conduct code reviews, unit testing and documentation.
• Mentor junior staff and share best practices.

Required profile

• Strong experience in object‑oriented design, design patterns and principles.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead technical discussions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward technical risks.
