R&D Logistics Associate – Import/Export Specialist

About the role

The R&D Logistics Associate will manage the end‑to‑end import and export of chemicals, instruments and equipment for BASF's Innovation Campus in Navi Mumbai. You will ensure smooth cross‑border shipments while complying with safety, regulatory and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and validate shipment documentation including invoices, packing lists, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).
• Define logistics modes in line with IATA, IMDG and other regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with import/export teams on HS codes and with customs clearing agents for seamless clearance.
• Notify consignees and forwarders about shipment status and continuously monitor shipments from receipt to delivery.
• Maintain records of all import/export transactions and TSE/BSE certificates for shipments to the USA.
• Collaborate with APR/HP teams to implement and update shipment SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, product safety, dual‑use technology and transport management regulations.
• Act as the authorized safety responsible person for transportation and distribution.
• Utilise ERP and supply‑chain systems for logistics execution and maintain agreements with logistics service providers.
• Support internal and external logistics audits.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, preferably in commerce or a related field.
• 5–10 years of logistics experience, ideally handling R&D sample shipments globally.
• Fluent communication skills in English.
• Proactive, result‑driven and entrepreneurial mindset.
