R&D Design Engineer – Sanitary Fittings

About the role

As an R&D Design Engineer on an international team, you will drive the development of high‑quality sanitary fittings, turning concepts into functional, cost‑effective products. You will own the design and dimensioning of components and assemblies, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and development of innovative components and assemblies for sanitary fittings.
• Execute constructive design while considering aesthetics, functionality, cost efficiency, and installation constraints.
• Generate creative concepts for new components to drive product evolution.
• Maintain SAP master data, including Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN), Material Master Data, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure designs meet functional specifications, deadlines, and fit within the product architecture.
• Perform engineering calculations to verify strength, stiffness, and mass of components.
• Collaborate closely with global R&D teams to align design decisions.

Required profile

• Professional experience in mechanical design, product development, or engineering operations within a manufacturing or R&D environment, preferably in sanitary or fluid‑handling industry.
• Strong expertise in constructive design of complex components, understanding manufacturing constraints, material properties, and cost‑to‑design principles.
• Proficiency in mechanical dimensioning, structural calculations, and simulations (strength, stiffness, mass) using manual methods or engineering software.
• Solid experience with modern CAD systems such as SolidEdge or Creo, and familiarity with CAE or simulation tools.
• Deep knowledge of SAP ERP, especially Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECN), Material Master Data, and BOM structures.
• Results‑driven mindset with a focus on meeting project deadlines, functional requirements, and high quality standards.
• High‑level English communication skills for effective collaboration with local and global stakeholders.
