R&D Coordinating Officer (India)

About the role

VakeWorks is seeking an R&D Coordinating Officer to drive research and development activities across its Indian operations. The role blends field work, agro‑ecology, and technology coordination, supporting projects in agriculture, aquaculture, forestry, and related data‑science initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and advance multidisciplinary R&D projects, from field studies to digital implementation.
• Facilitate collaboration between teams in Sweden, Uganda, and India, ensuring alignment of goals and timelines.
• Organise regular field travel using public transport and manage on‑site logistics.
• Support regulatory, legal, and accounting aspects of multi‑jurisdictional projects.
• Track progress, prepare reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Hands‑on attitude with a "learn to do, do to learn" mindset.
• Comfortable working in remote or hybrid settings across India.
• Ability to travel frequently for field work.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Experience with coordinating multidisciplinary research projects.
• Familiarity with agro‑ecology, soil or microbial systems research.
• Basic understanding of data‑science or machine‑learning concepts is a plus.
