Railway Design Head (DGM/GM level)

About the role

The Railway Design Head will lead and manage all design functions for railway infrastructure projects, delivering high-quality, compliant and cost-effective engineering solutions. This senior position involves strategic planning, team leadership and coordination with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complete design and engineering activities for railway projects, including track, alignment, stations and associated infrastructure.
• Oversee civil, structural, track, signalling and electrical design coordination.
• Ensure compliance with international and Indian railway standards such as IRS, RDSO and UIC.
• Manage and review detailed project reports, drawings and technical specifications.
• Drive value engineering, optimisation and innovation in design while meeting project schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and government authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience handling large-scale railway, metro or high-speed rail projects.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Professional certifications are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenRail.
• Proficiency with MicroStation.
