Quantity Surveyor – Commercial & Cost Management

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join its water and infrastructure team in India. Reporting to senior staff, you will lead commercial and cost management activities from project initiation through completion, supporting the Project Manager and Construction team.

Key responsibilities

• Take the lead on commercial aspects of project delivery, fostering a collaborative, performance‑driven culture.
• Work closely with procurement, construction managers and project managers to develop and monitor procurement strategies and site outputs.
• Oversee commercial and cost management for assigned projects, ensuring accurate estimates, subcontract preparation and contract file maintenance.
• Maintain strong relationships with the delivery team and supply chain, driving continuous improvement in commercial processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of Quantity Surveyor experience in construction or infrastructure.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CICES).
• Hands‑on experience with NEC3 PSC and ECC contracts, especially Option C.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel.
• Experience using FastDraft.
• Familiarity with DocuSign.
• Knowledge of NEC3 PSC and ECC contract frameworks.
