Quality Assurance Manager – Carpentry & Finishing

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager for Carpentry & Finishing Works ensures that every high‑end woodworking, joinery and furniture item meets strict design, structural and aesthetic standards before it leaves the factory. Reporting to the Factory Head/VP of Operations, the role acts as the final gatekeeper for product quality at the Lonavala manufacturing site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed pre‑dispatch inspections, checking finishes, hardware, functionality and dimensional accuracy against approved samples.
• Issue final QA clearance certificates and hold back any non‑conforming items.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve SOPs and quality checklists for cutting, assembly, sanding, polishing and packing stages.
• Monitor wood moisture content with calibrated meters to prevent warping or cracking.
• Identify root causes of finishing defects and drive CAPA actions to reduce rework and scrap.
• Perform regular shop‑floor audits and ensure raw material compliance.
• Collaborate with production, design, assembly and logistics teams to resolve discrepancies and protect finishes during transit.
• Train, mentor and supervise QA technicians and inspectors.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing quality assurance for high‑end carpentry, joinery or furniture finishing.
• Strong knowledge of wood materials, veneers, lacquers, PU, polish and edge‑banding processes.
• Ability to lead a QA team, conduct audits and coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders.
