QA Automation Lead

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a QA Automation Lead to drive automation strategy and execution for its FIFA SW Automation team in Bangalore. The role involves leading automation coverage, improving quality standards, and collaborating across QA, development, and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead automation processes, define coverage, KPIs, and methodology across the organization.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for regression and progression testing, ensuring reusability.
• Design, implement, and improve product quality standards and automation metrics.
• Collaborate with QA, scrum, automation infrastructure, and pipeline teams to integrate automation into CI/CD.
• Conduct monthly automation coverage reviews and present status in quarterly business reviews.

Required profile

• 10+ years of overall experience with at least 5 years hands‑on automation engineering.
• 2‑3 years of end‑to‑end automation ownership and team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of testing concepts, OOP, and Agile/DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Java, Python, C#.
• Automation frameworks: Playwright, TestNG, Selenium (wrapped layer), JSystem.
• Version control: Git.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Azure, Jira, Xray.
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Performance and load testing concepts.
