QA Automation Engineer – Playwright & POS

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer to lead automation efforts for Point‑of‑Sale (POS) applications. The role focuses on building and maintaining Playwright‑based frameworks, creating BDD test scenarios, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines across our Bengaluru, Pune and Noida locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for browser‑based POS systems using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Create and execute BDD test scenarios with Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Implement scalable automation solutions using the Page Object Model and reusable component libraries.
• Define and manage test data sets for items, pricing, promotions, tenders and transaction testing.
• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI) and run smoke, regression and release validation tests.
• Analyse test results, generate execution reports and provide actionable insights.
• Log, track and coordinate defect resolution with development teams.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers and product owners throughout the SDLC.

Required profile

• 10–13 years of experience in test automation for POS applications.
• Hands‑on expertise with Playwright as the core UI automation framework.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript.
• Experience testing applications using GK POS.
• Proficiency in BDD using Cucumber/Gherkin.
• Solid understanding of Page Object Model and reusable framework design.
• Experience with test data management for retail scenarios.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline and GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of test reporting tools like Allure, ReportPortal and Playwright HTML reports.
