Purchasing Manager

About the role

RIK Industries Private Limited, a leading furniture manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead end‑to‑end procurement for its operations. You will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, hardware, and finished components while ensuring quality, cost‑effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute procurement of raw materials such as plywood, MDF, particle board, foam, fabric, hardware, fittings, adhesives, and packaging.
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors for fabrication orders, share requirements and drawings, track progress, and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Work closely with production, design, stores, and accounts teams to forecast material requirements.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure best price, quality, and delivery terms.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base and identify alternate sources.
• Issue purchase orders, track status, and align deliveries with production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock and minimize wastage.
• Ensure proper Goods Receipt Note entry, verify quantity and quality, and manage rejections with the QC team.
• Lead stores staff, oversee material receipt, storage, issuance, and maintain accurate stock records.
• Maintain documentation, GST compliance, and timely processing of vendor invoices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of furniture raw materials, hardware, and the local supplier market.
• Proven negotiation, vendor management, and cost‑control abilities.
• Good understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and production planning.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple suppliers simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and follow‑up skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP/purchase software such as Tally, SAP, Zoho, or similar.
