Purchase Accountant

About the role

The Purchase Accountant will join a design‑led, internationally operating manufacturing business that creates premium architectural products. Reporting to the Head of Finance/CFO, you will be responsible for strengthening purchase accounting and vendor finance controls, ensuring compliance and improving cost visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end purchase accounting cycle, validating purchase orders, GRNs, invoices and ledger entries.
• Maintain timely expense booking, inventory reconciliation, accruals, provisions and purchase cut‑offs.
• Reconcile vendor accounts monthly, review contracts for financial risk, and ensure GST and TDS compliance.
• Manage vendor payment schedules and align cash flow with procurement needs.
• Prepare purchase analytics, cost reports and support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closures.
• Liaise with statutory and internal auditors, maintain documentation readiness and strengthen SOPs.
• Improve ERP utilisation for purchase modules, automate reconciliations and design scalable controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchase accounting, vendor reconciliation, finance operations or accounts payable.
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS and statutory compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
