Pulmonologist

About the role

The Pulmonologist will join Apollo Hospitals in Raurkela to provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and management of respiratory conditions. This full‑time, on‑site position involves outpatient consultations, inpatient care and ICU support, ensuring high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical examinations and interpret diagnostic investigations such as spirometry, imaging and bronchoscopy.
• Develop evidence‑based treatment plans for acute and chronic respiratory disorders.
• Manage asthma, allergy‑related conditions and coordinate long‑term follow‑up care.
• Provide ventilator support and critical care management for patients with respiratory failure in the ICU.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and ensure adherence to hospital protocols and quality standards.
• Educate patients, mentor junior medical staff and contribute to clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong clinical expertise in pulmonology with ability to manage a broad range of respiratory disorders.
• Competence in asthma and allergy care, including preventive strategies and patient counseling.
• Solid foundation in general medicine and ability to coordinate with other specialties.
• Experience or training in critical care medicine, particularly ventilator management and ICU patient care.
• Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in pulmonology/respiratory medicine (MD/DNB or equivalent) with valid registration.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a high‑volume tertiary care hospital and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuing medical education, quality improvement and adoption of new technologies.
