Public Area Attendant – Hotel Cleaning

About the role

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for keeping all common areas, lobbies, and exterior spaces of the hotel clean, tidy, and ready for guests. This role follows company policies and works closely with the housekeeping team to maintain a welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain daily cleaning schedule and tasks from the supervisor
• Clean and maintain lobbies, public areas, restrooms, walls, stairwells, and hallways
• Sweep, mop, and polish floors, entrances, elevators, and furniture
• Empty and clean outdoor trash, ashtrays, and patio areas
• Restock restroom supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and hand towels
• Maintain mirrors, doors, and surfaces free of marks
• Clean exercise room equipment, floors, mirrors, and walls
• Clean pool area furniture, floors, glass, and doors
• Handle lost‑and‑found items and tag them for the front desk
• Report repair or maintenance needs to the supervisor
• Restock the attendant’s cart and empty vacuum cleaners each shift
• Assist room attendants and laundry attendants as needed

Required profile

• Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or similar roles within a hotel or commercial environment
• Experience cleaning in a customer‑focused setting
• Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
