Project Manager – HVDC Converter Station & Transmission Line PMC

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Project Management Consultancy activities for the construction of HVDC converter stations, EHV substations and associated overhead transmission lines. The role will ensure safe, on‑schedule and on‑budget delivery while meeting all contract and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mobilization, construction planning and baseline schedule development for HVDC converter stations, EHV substations and overhead transmission lines.
• Manage PMC activities across pre‑construction, construction, testing, commissioning and close‑out, monitoring EPC contractor programmes and progress.
• Coordinate constructability reviews, ensure engineering documents are released, and oversee installation of converter equipment, switchyards, SCADA and telecommunications systems.
• Administer contracts, assess variations, monitor cost‑to‑complete forecasts and support dispute avoidance.
• Monitor quality, health, safety and environment compliance, conduct site inspections and manage risk registers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in major power transmission, substation or HVDC projects.
• Proven experience delivering HVDC converter stations, EHV substations or overhead transmission lines in a PMC, Owner’s Engineer or EPC role.
