About the role

This position is responsible for overseeing the erection, installation, testing and commissioning of diesel generator (DG) sets on construction sites. The role ensures full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations while coordinating with clients, consultants and statutory safety representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations during DG supply, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Review and approve Job Safety Analyses (JSA), HIRA and method statements before work commences.
• Conduct site safety inductions, toolbox talks and supervise safe unloading, lifting, shifting and positioning of DG sets and accessories.
• Verify third‑party certification and safe usage of lifting tools, tackles and equipment.
• Monitor safety during foundation works, mechanical installation, alignment, electrical installation, cable laying, termination, earthing and testing.
• Enforce lockout‑tagout (LOTO), permit‑to‑work and electrical safety procedures.
• Oversee installation of fuel, exhaust and acoustic enclosure systems, and ensure proper barricading, signage and restricted access during testing.
• Maintain fire‑fighting and emergency response equipment readiness.
• Identify, report and close unsafe acts, near‑misses and hazardous conditions; keep daily safety records and incident reports.
• Implement environmental controls for diesel handling, spills, noise and emissions.

Required profile

• Mandatory experience in site installation, testing and commissioning (SITC) of DG sets.
• Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and safety management on construction sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
