Professor of Computer Science

About the role

The university seeks a highly accomplished, research‑oriented Professor of Computer Science to enhance its research ecosystem, postgraduate teaching, doctoral supervision, and industry collaborations. The successful candidate will lead cutting‑edge research, secure funded projects, and mentor faculty and students across emerging technology domains.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct high‑quality research in Computer Science and emerging technology areas.
• Publish in SCOPUS/WoS/SCI/ESCI‑indexed journals and top international conferences.
• Develop and manage funded research projects from government, industry, and international bodies.
• Supervise PhD scholars, postgraduate, and undergraduate research projects.
• Establish and strengthen research labs, centres of excellence, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Mentor faculty and research scholars to improve departmental research output.
• Build collaborations with IITs, NITs, reputed universities, research institutions, and industry partners.
• File and support patents, copyrights, technology transfer, and research‑based innovations.
• Contribute to curriculum development in AI/ML, Generative AI, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, IoT, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, and related fields.
• Organise and participate in international conferences, workshops, FDPs, and research seminars.
• Support institutional ranking and accreditation initiatives (NAAC, NIRF, NBA, QS).
• Encourage consultancy, industry‑sponsored research, and technology‑based solutions.
• Achieve defined research KPIs, publication targets, funded projects, and doctoral outcomes.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related discipline from a reputed institution.
• 12–20 years of academic/research experience with a strong SCOPUS/WoS/SCI publication record.
• Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and lead funded projects.
• Experience supervising PhD scholars and successfully awarding PhDs.
• Evidence of high‑impact, cited publications; patents or technology‑transfer experience is a plus.
• Proven track record of establishing research collaborations and interdisciplinary projects.
