Production Manager

About the role

Sun Pharma is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to lead the Compression Area of its manufacturing plant in Ranipool, Sikkim. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient production operations while driving continuous improvement and meeting daily and monthly output targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise machine‑wise production activities in the Compression Area.
• Perform online monitoring of in‑process parameters, maintain log books and batch manufacturing records (BMR).
• Ensure machine availability according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Coordinate with IPQA, QC, Engineering, IT and MSTG departments for seamless production flow.
• Handle SAP transactions related to production and maintain cGMP‑compliant documentation.
• Conduct calibration and verification of balances and other critical equipment.
• Manage shift handovers, manpower allocation, and discipline of the production team.
• Train officers and workers, fill daily assessment sheets, and address day‑to‑day operational issues.
• Investigate deviations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and report abnormalities to senior management.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Department Head.

Required profile

• B.Pharm or M.Pharm degree.
• 14–18 years of experience in pharmaceutical production or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP practices and production documentation.
• Proven ability to lead large teams, allocate resources, and maintain high discipline standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience handling deviations and corrective actions.
