Production Manager – Dairy Products

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our buttermilk (Chhas) and other dairy product lines at our Ahmedabad factory. The role focuses on achieving production targets while maintaining product quality, safety, and efficient use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and monitor daily production activities to meet output goals.
• Oversee the complete production process for buttermilk and other dairy products, ensuring adherence to approved formulations and schedules.
• Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales and other functions for smooth operations.
• Monitor manpower deployment, machine utilization, raw material consumption, efficiency and waste.
• Maintain consistent product quality, taste, texture, shelf life and packaging standards.
• Implement and uphold GMP, GHP, HACCP, food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Identify bottlenecks, drive corrective actions and lead continuous‑process improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and analyse production MIS reports, tracking key performance indicators.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and traceability of milk, cultures, ingredients and finished goods.
• Supervise and train production staff, maintaining discipline and operational standards.

Required profile

• 7–12 years of relevant experience in dairy, FMCG or food production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Strong hands‑on experience in dairy manufacturing operations.
• Good knowledge of dairy processing, production planning, quality control, hygiene and food‑safety systems.
• Understanding of GMP, GHP, HACCP, SOPs and related regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
