Production Engineer

About the role

The Production Engineer will supervise shift‑wise production activities, ensuring safety, discipline, and punctuality while meeting departmental goals. The role involves close coordination with supervisors, leadsmen, and the Plant Manager to execute weekly and monthly production schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift production activities, especially during night shifts, and enforce safety and PPE usage.
• Receive and communicate production schedules and job priorities from the Plant Manager.
• Coordinate with line supervisors to set shift priorities and production targets.
• Validate shift production reports, monitor job status, and report completion dates.
• Prepare weekly paint schedules, track paint consumption, and manage scrap data reconciliation.
• Analyze machine breakdowns, develop action plans, and drive recovery of lost production.
• Handle SAP discrepancies with PPC, stores, warehouse, and shipping teams.
• Report production and quality issues to the Plant Manager and support continuous productivity improvements.

Required profile

• 3–5 years experience as a shift in‑charge in PEB manufacturing or heavy fabrication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Production Engineering.
• 10–12 years overall experience in a similar manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP production modules.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Experience in production scheduling and shift supervision.
• Ability to monitor paint consumption and manage scrap data.
