Production Engineer – Heavy Fabrication

About the role

The Fabrication Production Engineer will be based on‑site in the Pune District, overseeing the manufacturing of specialised bridge construction equipment. You will ensure that all production activities comply with design specifications, quality standards and delivery schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate production planning, scheduling and resource allocation for fabrication projects.
• Monitor shop‑floor workflow, track progress and resolve technical issues in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support quality‑control activities, conduct inspections and maintain accurate production documentation.
• Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders to align fabrication schedules with project requirements.
• Interact with suppliers as needed and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Production Engineering with hands‑on experience in mechanical manufacturing or heavy‑equipment fabrication.
• Analytical ability to interpret technical drawings and troubleshoot production problems.
• Experience in production planning, scheduling and resource management.
• Knowledge of quality‑control standards and inspection methods for steel fabrication.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with CAD drawings, manufacturing documentation and basic project‑management tools.
• Understanding of workplace safety regulations in fabrication workshops.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Pune and adapt to a dynamic, project‑driven environment.
