Product Owner – Process Diagnostics & AI Solutions

About the role

The Product Owner joins Applied Materials' Process Diagnostics and Control (PDC) group in Mumbai. You will define, prioritize, and drive LINK data products and AI‑enabled solutions from concept through field deployment, acting as the bridge between customers, field teams, product management, R&D, algorithms, and tool business units.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer needs, Voice of Customer, competitive insights, and field learnings into clear product requirements.
• Define and prioritize the product backlog and roadmap, balancing demand, quality, reliability, and technical debt.
• Own epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria while collaborating with architects, software engineers, QA, and algorithm teams.
• Participate in PI planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and release planning to ensure testable, customer‑focused requirements.
• Act as escalation point for strategic customer requirements, validate solutions with field engineers, and support beta programs and key deployments.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment across Product Management, R&D, QA, Algorithms, Applications, Marketing, and Tool teams.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, VLSI, or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience in semiconductor process and defectivity, with hands‑on knowledge of CAD and design‑based inspection concepts.
• Comfort with GenAI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) for code generation, debugging, and documentation.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% to leading fabs worldwide.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of working independently and within cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers, field teams, and R&D engineers.
