Product Marketing Manager

About the role

Plane is building the infrastructure that powers modern work, combining projects, knowledge, and requests into a single open platform. As a Product Marketing Manager you will own the messaging for multiple product editions and guide how the product is presented to diverse buyers, from quick‑start cloud users to air‑gapped enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own positioning for Projects, Wiki, Intake, and Plane AI, maintaining the source of truth for every claim and its supporting evidence.
• Define how capabilities map to different editions and tiers (cloud, self‑hosted, air‑gapped).
• Lead end‑to‑end product launches, including narrative, page copy, announcements, email, in‑product messaging, and enablement.
• Maintain product, solution, industry, and comparison pages that are evaluated against competitors such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com, and ClickUp.
• Conduct research—customer interviews, lost‑deal analysis, community threads, competitive moves—to inform positioning.
• Collaborate weekly with product managers, designers, sales, and community teams, and validate contested claims with engineers before release.
• Keep the marketing library up‑to‑date, including battlecards, edition explainers, demo scripts, and FAQs.

Required profile

• Proven experience owning product positioning that drove measurable improvements in adoption, conversion, or win rate.
• Hands‑on copywriting experience delivering web‑ready pages and launch assets.
• Track record running cross‑functional launches with product, design, sales, and support.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical audiences and enterprise buyers, including developers, IT, security, and compliance stakeholders.
• Data‑driven decision making using customer interviews, sales calls, and product metrics.
