Product Line Management Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking a Product Line Management professional in Bangalore. The role focuses on overseeing product change management, ensuring configuration accuracy, and driving cost‑reduction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own product change management (PCM) and control, including unreleased product approval.
• Approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and implement Part Change Notifications (PCN) with Global Product Support.
• Provide guidance on field service impact of part and supplier changes.
• Ensure accuracy of customer‑shipped configurations and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Conduct Configuration Accuracy Review Meetings (CaRM) and review BOM accuracy.
• Approve Non‑Standard Requests (NSR) and manage common modules roadmap post‑Phase 5 of ePLC.
• Implement component roadmaps covering obsolescence, replacements, alternative vendors, and cost reduction.
• Facilitate inter‑company communication on product strategies, pricing, spare levels, and restricted parts.
• Manage strategic vendor issues and all post‑release product changes driven by engineering, quality, safety, customer demand, or supply obsolescence.

• Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in product line management and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Understands best practices, integration points with other areas, and competitive market factors.
• Acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and can lead small projects with manageable risk.
