Procurement Trainer & SME – Purchase-to-Pay

About the role

BASF is looking for a highly motivated Purchase-to-Pay Procurement Trainer and Subject Matter Expert to lead knowledge transition and capability development for its new Global Hub in India. The role will capture process knowledge from the sending location, document it, and deliver structured training to the receiving team.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for process transition, participating in walkthroughs, validation sessions and reverse knowledge‑transfer activities.
• Design, develop and deliver classroom, virtual and on‑the‑job training covering direct and indirect procurement, supplier‑facing activities and SAP procurement processes.
• Maintain training materials, user guides, process maps and job aids; assess learner readiness and provide post‑training support.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in direct/indirect procurement, operational purchasing or procure‑to‑pay in a shared‑services or GCC environment.
• Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder‑management skills, with experience working in an MNC.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) – Materials Management, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, source lists, outline agreements, goods receipts, service entries and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to create training simulations and job aids.
