Procurement Specialist

About the role

Flex is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join its Coimbatore team. You will support production by ensuring timely and cost‑effective acquisition of raw materials and purchased parts while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain relations with suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, and quality.
• Place, modify, and track purchase orders based on production plans and shortage lists.
• Monitor shipments, handle freight forwarder and warehouse coordination, and resolve claims.
• Conduct weekly stock checks, manage obsolete inventory, and verify critical material availability.
• Prepare and approve invoices, maintain procurement records, and generate reports.
• Perform quarterly supplier reviews and address any discrepancies.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems.
• Strong data‑entry and ten‑key skills.
• Ability to read, write and present basic business correspondence in English.
• Basic arithmetic and algebra skills for calculations and discounts.
